Mr. Brian Shimko
I grew up in Beavercreek, attending Fairbrook Elementary, Ankeney Junior High (as it was called back then), and Beavercreek High School. After graduating, I went to Wright State University majoring in business and administration. After completing my degree, I decided to go into teaching and completed the necessary coursework at Wright State. I completed my master's degree at the University of Dayton and obtained my principal's license and curriculum license. I have taught in the district since 2000, teaching third grade at Main Elementary for one year, fourth grade at Shaw Elementary for twelve years, and fourth grade at Trebein Elementary for two years. At some point in my career, I have taught all subject areas, but have primarily done language arts. I have also been a department head, treasurer for Beavercreek Education Association, and summer school principal for the District.
My wife, Heather, works in human resources for Greene County Developmental Disabilities. We have three children. Our daughter, Gabrielle, is ten years old and is in fifth grade at Trebein Elementary. We also have twin sons, Austin and Carter, who are seven years old in first grade at Trebein, and a dog named Tyler. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, doing things with my family, working in the yard, and taking pictures. I enjoy interacting with the excellent staff, students, and parents at Ankeney Middle School!
